Kozminski University: high hopes of winning

Of the four Polish universities that have registered for the EUSA Bridge Championship to be held in Budapest from 24th to 28th July, 2019, Kozminski University has the highest hopes of winning a medal.

 

The bridge section of Kozminski University is one of the strongest in Poland. In the past 4 years it has won at least one silver or gold medal at the Polish University Championships.

 

The current team consists of two pairs who have won medals in the junior category at the World and European Youth Championships. They also play in the Polish Premier League, each of them in different teams. 

 

Arkadiusz Majcher (26) and Piotr Marcinowski (25) are doing their Management studies and they play together. They won the World University Championships in 2016 and finished in the second place in the same competition two years later. Last year they dropped out in last 16 in the Rosenblum Cup (Open Team World Championships).

 

Igor Losiewicz (27) also studies Management and plays with Lukasz Witkowski (27), who is a PhD student in Economics. They won a silver medal at the World University Championships in 2016, with Piotr and Arkadiusz winning the gold medal. Igor and Lukasz also finished first at the U20 World Championships in 2012. Lukasz is a four-time European Champion in youth and junior categories.
